Kentucky's 2027 Recruiting: Blue-Chip Tight End George Lamons in the Mix (2026)

Kentucky is actively pursuing blue-chip tight end George Lamons.

After committing to Texas A&M early in the recruiting process, George Lamons, a tight end from Quitman, Georgia, opened up his recruitment during the summer preceding his senior year. As a result, he has been attracting attention from various universities.

Recently, Kentucky's new coaching staff has made their presence known in his recruitment efforts. The Wildcats have reached out to Lamons, who currently ranks as the No. 150 overall prospect in the 2027 Rivals Industry Ranking. Excited about the possibilities, this talented tight end is eager to visit Lexington and explore what Will Stein’s program has to offer.

"I want to learn more about the new coaches and the school," Lamons shared with Chad Simmons. "They reached out last week, they like me a lot, so Kentucky is a school I want to see soon."

The Wildcats are making a concerted effort to recruit this promising four-star tight end, but they are not alone in the competition. Notably, Georgia Tech is a strong contender at this point, while powerhouse programs such as Alabama, Auburn, LSU, and USC are also in the mix.

As Kentucky develops its initial high school recruiting target list for the 2027 cycle, George Lamons has secured a spot on that board, positioning him as a key tight end prospect to keep an eye on as the recruitment progresses.
