DEATH ANGEL Announces 2026 'Act III' U.S. Tour with VIO-LENCE | Full Dates & Details (2026)

Get ready to bang your head, because thrash metal legends DEATH ANGEL are hitting the road again! But here's where it gets exciting: they're not just playing any old set list – they're dusting off their 1990 masterpiece, 'Act III', and playing it in its entirety for the second leg of their U.S. tour. This isn't just a nostalgia trip; it's a celebration of an album that cemented their place as one of thrash metal's most innovative bands. And this time, they're bringing along Bay Area comrades VIO-LENCE and INCITE to crank the intensity up to eleven.

This tour, kicking off May 1st in Phoenix, AZ, and wrapping up June 21st in Santa Cruz, CA, is a direct response to the overwhelming fan demand from their initial 'Act III' run. As frontman Mark Osegueda puts it, "Truth be told, we were blown away by the response. We wanted to see if the magic of that era still resonated, and you guys proved it does – beyond our wildest dreams!"
And this is the part most people miss: DEATH ANGEL isn't just resting on their laurels. While they're celebrating 'Act III', they're also throwing in handpicked classics from their extensive catalog, showcasing their evolution from teenage prodigies to Grammy-nominated thrash titans.

Formed in 1982 in Daly City, California, DEATH ANGEL emerged as a force to be reckoned with in the legendary Bay Area thrash scene. Cousins Rob Cavestany (guitar), Dennis Pepa (bass), and Andy Galeon (drums), alongside vocalist Mark Osegueda and guitarist Gus Pepa, honed their blistering speed, technical precision, and fearless songwriting in local clubs before exploding onto the international stage with their 1987 debut, 'The Ultra-Violence'. Recorded when Galeon was just 14, the album's complexity and raw energy set them apart.
'Frolic Through the Park' followed in 1988, spawning the MTV hit 'Bored' and even landing them a stint hosting 'Headbangers Ball'. 'Act III', their 1990 major-label debut, showcased a more dynamic and melodic side while retaining their thrash intensity, earning them MTV airplay and a feature in People magazine.

After a hiatus, DEATH ANGEL reunited in 2001, embarking on a powerful second chapter. Far from relying on nostalgia, they released a string of critically acclaimed albums – 'The Art of Dying' (2004), 'Killing Season' (2008), 'Relentless Retribution' (2010), 'The Dream Calls for Blood' (2013), 'The Evil Divide' (2016), and 'Humanicide' (2019) – that blended classic Bay Area aggression with sharpened songwriting and modern production. 'Humanicide' even earned them a Grammy nomination for 'Best Metal Performance', solidifying their place among contemporary thrash metal's elite.

Their 2025 singles, 'Wrath (Bring Fire)' and 'Cult of the Used', showcased their continued evolution, blending classic ferocity with socially charged lyrics and precision musicianship.

The 'Act III' anniversary tour is more than just a trip down memory lane; it's a testament to the enduring power of this album and the band's unwavering dedication to their craft. With a lineup that's remained stable for nearly two decades – Mark Osegueda (vocals), Rob Cavestany (guitar), Ted Aguilar (guitar), Damien Sisson (bass), and Will Carroll (drums) – DEATH ANGEL continues to deliver electrifying live performances across the globe, proving that thrash metal's spirit is alive and well.

Controversial question: With the rise of newer metal subgenres, do you think classic thrash metal bands like DEATH ANGEL can still hold their own against the new wave of metal? Let us know in the comments!
