Avengers: Doomsday Trailers Breaking Records with Over 1 Billion Combined Views (2026)

In a groundbreaking moment for Marvel fans, the trailers for "Avengers: Doomsday" have taken the internet by storm, amassing over 1 billion views in total. This remarkable achievement comes as new teaser trailers have been unveiled weekly, leading up to the highly anticipated release of "Avatar: Fire and Ash" in theaters and across various social media platforms. With four trailers now available, their collective view count has exceeded an impressive 1.02 billion.

According to a report by The Hollywood Reporter, the social engagement surrounding each teaser was on average an astounding 188 percent higher than that of a typical Marvel release. Furthermore, this collection of four teasers has now set records for the highest views on Instagram, with 505 million, and TikTok, which stands at 103 million views. Additionally, these teasers sparked 16 organic trends on X (formerly Twitter), featuring keywords like "Doomsday," "Steve Rogers," "Thor," "X-Men," and "Wakanda."

To put this in perspective, when the trailer for "Deadpool & Wolverine" debuted, it became the most viewed trailer at that time, achieving 365 million views within the first 24 hours.

When discussing the significance of these trailers, Joe Russo remarked, "Each one of those trailers is narrative information, and it’s all part of a larger story. So, I would argue that Doomsday has already started for you."

Fans are excitedly awaiting all four trailers, which can be viewed below.

Steve Rogers Makes His Comeback

In the first teaser, we see Chris Evans reprising his role as Steve Rogers. The footage shows him returning home on a classic Triumph motorcycle, packing away his Captain America uniform while cradling a baby in his arms. Although fans were already aware of Evans' return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), it had not been confirmed that he would portray Steve Rogers specifically. Given the franchise's foray into alternate universes—highlighted by Robert Downey Jr.'s return as Doctor Doom, rather than Tony Stark—it raised speculation that Evans might play a different character. It's still a possibility that he could portray an alternate version of the beloved Steve Rogers we know.

Thor's Plea for Guidance

The second teaser showcases Thor as he seeks counsel from his father, Odin, confronting yet another foe. He references events from "Thor: Love and Thunder," where he ended up adopting a child named Love.

The Return of the X-Men

In the third teaser, fans are treated to the sight of legendary actors Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Ian McKellen as Magneto, and James Marsden as Cyclops. This trio was among the cast members revealed during a lengthy livestream earlier this year. Other familiar faces returning from the X-Men film series include Kelsey Grammer (Hank McCoy / Beast), Alan Cumming (Kurt Wagner / Nightcrawler), and Rebecca Romijn (Raven Darkhölme / Mystique), each reprising their iconic roles from the original 20th Century Fox X-Men films.

Stewart last played Professor X, also known as Charles Xavier, in "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" (2022), marking his character's debut in the MCU. Meanwhile, McKellen and Marsden last appeared in their roles in "X-Men: Days of Future Past" (2014), another film produced by 20th Century Fox.

Wakandans and Fantastic Four Unite

The most recent teaser features Letitia Wright as Shuri / Black Panther, alongside Tenoch Huerta Mejía as Namor, Winston Duke as M’Baku, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm / The Thing. In this clip, Shuri and King M’Baku encounter The Thing from the Fantastic Four. While the other members of the Fantastic Four do not make an appearance, it has been confirmed that Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Pedro Pascal will reprise their respective roles in the film.

Directed by the Russo Brothers, "Avengers: Doomsday" is set to hit theaters on December 18, 2026. Tom Hiddleston has already praised the film, describing its story as "absolutely brilliant."

Fans are encouraged to keep track of the countdown to the film’s release with the live "Doomsday Clock."
